Blue Flash Express was founded
in 1979 by career professionals with extensive experience
in warehousing for the chemical and plastics industries. We
employ more than 300 people and operate over 210 trucks from
terminals and yards across the United States.
Bulk Transport, Dry and Liquid
Although we routinely transport bulk liquids such
as herbicides, we are best-known for dry bulk transportation
— especially plastic resins. We have built a reputation
in the plastics industry as being a premier transporter of
these materials. We have developed many innovations in the
transfer of plastics. Our expertise in this industry is second
to none. We do handle other dry commodities such as salt,
flour, sugar, rice, corn, alumina, soda ash, urea and calcium
chloride.
Driver Profile
It takes more than a "very good" driver
to take the wheel at Blue Flash. In addition to an outstanding
driving record, we look for people with a special sense
of pride and responsibility. Then we train them, not just
in Blue Flash Express procedures, but also in your procedures.
So when they show up at your facility, they’ll be
ready to load.
Blue Flash hires seasoned professional drivers, and provides
extensive training in safety and in company policies and
procedures. A great percentage of our drivers are independent
owner-operators, many of whom are husband-wife teams.
Dispatching
Blue Flash dispatch can provide current status
information for any load using our GPS tracking system.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities are available.
Total Quality Management
We adhere to Total Quality Management principles
and are working actively toward ISO 9002 quality management
system certification.
Equipment
Our trucks don’t just look nearly new, they
are — and we’re even more meticulous about maintenance
than we are about keeping them clean.
• GPS tracking systems on all trucks that provide
instantaneous driver location and secure communications.
• Lightweight, late-model trailers from leading
manufacturers such as J&L and Heil for maximum payload
• Trailers with catwalks for safety, heat exchangers
to protect temperature-sensitive loads, and on-board scales
• Custom direct-transfer systems that allow unpowered
trailers to "self-load" when accompanied by
a vacuum trailer
• Custom railcar fittings to reduce small spills
during loading
• Operation Clean Sweep Kits on every truck for
100% clean operations
• Wide range of fittings on every truck to accommodate
a variety of loading/unloading requirements
Our Mission
• To provide safe, dependable, efficient transportation
service for dry and liquid bulk products.
• To strive for excellence in all our endeavors,
thus achieving total customer satisfaction for both internal
and external customers.
• To meet or exceed all customer, regulatory, and
environmental requirements in a safe, timely, and cost
effective manner.
